Hibiscus Bourbon Buzz

Directions

Mix the liqueurs in a shaker


Add ice and shake until the shaker gets frosty


Strain into a martini glass


Dust with espresso grounds

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Bourbon
  • 1.5 oz coffee liqueur
  • 1 oz homemade hibiscus liqueur (recipe below)
  • Espresso grounds

Homemade hibiscus liqueur

This hibiscus liqueur is about 33 proof if your starting grain alcohol is 100 proof or more.

  • 1 cup hibiscus flowers (available from Amazon)
  • 16 oz 100 proof clear grain alcohol
  • 10 oz filtered water
  • 10 oz simple syrup


Steep your hibiscus flower in an air tight container for 24 to 36 hours.


Strain into your favorite recycled liquor bottle.  Add water and simple syrup.
